Siblings

Disclaimer: THA does not offer parenting advice and we certainly don’t consider ourselves to be experts in any manner. There are some things that we do in the studio that we wanted to share.

The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child’s Developing Mind states,

“You’re never going to get the conflict side of the equation to zero. Siblings argue; they just do. But if you can increase the other side of the equation, giving them activities that produce positive emotions and memories, you’ll create strong bonds between them and set up a relationship that has a good chance of remaining solid for life.”

Enter the “Kudos Box”. You can call it what you like. The Kudos Box in our studio is a way to help the warriors remember and recognize any kindness that they experience. Give your warriors a place to write down and collect any moments of kindness they experience while they are home together. You can also write down any moments of kindness that you notice. At the end of the day, you can read them together as a family. They truly enjoy hearing them. These reminders will help them to see that they are kind to one another. That they do work together and it’s always nice to be appreciated.
